The MALAYSIAN JOURNAL OF CONSUMER AND FAMILY ECONOMICS (MAJCAFE) is the official journal of MACFEA (Publisher). Authors will be required to complete a “Journal Publishing Agreement” if their paper is accepted in MAJCAFE. A “Journal Publishing Agreement” will be sent to the corresponding author after confirming the receipt of the manuscript.
Dr Afida Mastura Muhammad Arif
Dr Afida Mastura Muhammad Arif is an Associate Professor with a PhD in law from Hull University, United Kingdom. She is the Program Coordinator for the Bachelor of Consumer Studies at the Universiti Putra Malaysia’s Department of Resource Management and Consumer Studies, Faculty of Human Ecology. She specialises in consumer law and consumer protection. She has published articles on online shopping self-protection, consumer protection in money lending and waste management behaviour. She also conducts advocacy programs to spread awareness of consumer protection in the digital era. She is an EXCO Member of the Malaysian Consumer and Family Economics Association (MACFEA) and a member of the International Association of Consumer Law (IACL).
Dr Syuhaily Osman
Dr Syuhaily Osman obtained her PhD (in Consumer Behaviour) from the University of Malaya in 2008. She currently holds the position of Associate Professor at the Department of Resource Management and Consumer Studies, Faculty of Human Ecology, UPM, in the field of Consumer Behaviour. She currently acts on the Editorial Board of the Malaysian Journal of Family and Consumer Economics (MAJCAFE), Malaysian Consumer Journal, and EXCO of the Malaysian Family and Consumer Economics Association (MACFEA). She also has an experience as a member of the Advertising Committee of the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs. She is also an associate researcher at the Sustainable Consumption Research Group, Universiti Putra Malaysia. She actively writes and publishes articles on consumer behaviour and other articles posted on Muslim consumer buying behaviour, online buyer typology, halal consumer buying and purchase perceptions, sustainable consumption behaviour, etc.
Dr Muhammad Azman Ibrahim
Dr Muhammad Azman Ibrahim is a senior lecturer at the Faculty of Business and Management, UiTM. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Marketing from the University of Canterbury, New Zealand and a master’s degree in management and business from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM). He is actively involved in several research projects and is interested in researching marketing and digital marketing.
Dr Nurul Syifaa Mohd Shakil
Dr Nurul Syifaa Mohd Shakil is a senior lecturer at the Department of Economics and Financial Studies, Faculty of Business and Management, Universiti Teknologi MARA. Her research interest focused on households’ sustainability, specifically on low-income households.
Dr Ariff Azly Muhamed
Dr Ariff Azly Muhamed is a Senior Lecturer in Operation Management at the Department of Technology and Supply Chain Studies, Faculty of Business and Management, UiTM. He is actively involved in Halal Supply Chain and Halal Consumerism activities. His fundamental research interest is strategic supply chain management and operational research.
Dr Sharidatul Akma Abu Seman
Dr Sharidatul Akma Abu Seman the Head of Technology and Supply Chain Management Studies in the Department of Technology and Supply Chain Management Studies, Faculty of Business and Management (FBM), Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Selangor, Malaysia. She earned a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Science (USM), Malaysia. Sharidatul Akma Abu Seman joined the academic profession in 2009 and currently contributes her expertise to multidisciplinary research. Her research interests lie in information and communication technology, technological management, mobile applications, mHealth applications, and the digital workforce.
Dr Nur Azirah Zahida Mohamad Azhar
Dr Nur Azirah Zahida Mohamad Azhar is a Senior Lecturer in Economics at the Department of Economics and Financial Studies, Faculty of Business and Management, Universiti Teknologi MARA. While doing her PhD, she also served as a research officer for a grant which focuses on sustainable livelihood among low-income households in the Northern states of Malaysia. Dr Azirah is still actively involved in research on sustainable household livelihood, mainly poverty issues
Dr Irwan Syah Md Yusoff
Dr Irwan Syah Md Yusoff is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Resource Management and Consumer Studies, Faculty of Human Ecology, Universiti Putra Malaysia. His PhD is in Product Design in Ergonomics from Universiti Sains Malaysia, Malaysia. Ergonomics is his focus area, emphasising aspects of consumer safety and health issues in improving the work environment’s quality and ensuring well-being. He publishes high-impact research papers in numerous index journals. His latest study focuses more on elderly transportation and mobility to minimise health problems related to musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs). He is an associate researcher at the Malaysian Institute on Aging (MyAgeing) and the Sustainable Consumption Research Center of Excellence (SCoRE), as well as a life member of the Malaysian Association for Consumer and Family Economics (MACFEA). Before becoming an academic, he held positions as a Product Designer, Furniture Designer, Head of Designer, and Design Engineer in several international companies.
Dr Ismah Osman
Dr Ismah Osman joined Universiti Teknologi MARA in 2000. She is with the Department of Islamic Banking and Finance. In addition to conducting research, publishing, and consultation work, she supervises PhD and MSc students. Her research field includes Islamic Financial Literacy, Halal Marketing and Consumerism and Administration Principles of Islam. She has been the Associate Editor for the Journal of Islamic Marketing (Emerald Publishing) since 2016, the Editorial Board of the Malaysian Journal of Consumer and Family Economics (MAJCAFE), and an EXCO member for the Malaysian Consumer and Family Economics Association. She is also the holder of a professional Islamic Financial Planning certificate (IFP) and Associate Qualification in Islamic Finance (AQIF) from Islamic Banking & Finance Institute Malaysia (IBFIM).
Dr Chuah Soo Cheng
Dr Chuah Soo Cheng is a senior lecturer in economics at the Department of Economics and Finance Studies, Faculty of Business and Management, University of Technology MARA, Malaysia. Her research interest is economic development and behaviour science (economics and finance).
Professor Dr Tan Peck Leong
Professor Dr Tan Peck Leong has been an academician for the last 19 years. He currently serves at Arshad Ayub Graduate Business School, Universiti Teknologi MARA. He obtained his PhD in Labor Economics from the University of Waikato, New Zealand. His area of research is in development economics, particularly in human capital development, which comprises human capital investment, migration, poverty, gender inequality, and workers’ well-being. His lifelong passion is teaching, helping, and guiding his students to reach their highest potential. He is also actively involved in the Malaysian Consumer and Family Economics Association, serving as an EXCO member since 2017 and Managing Editor of the Malaysian Journal of Consumer and Family Economics (MAJCAFE) since 2018. Besides, Prof Dr Tan is also directly involved in national policy writing.
Assoc Prof Dr J.S. Keshminder
Dr J.S. Keshminder holds a PhD in economics from the University of Malaya Malaysia and is currently an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Business and Management, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM). His specific research areas include the circular economy, resource efficiency, and social inclusion of the green economy, particularly the complexity of the human-environment relationship. His research on eco-innovation, green Sukuk, waste management, and pro-environmental behaviour has been published in reputable indexed journals. The journals are Corporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Management, Journal of Sustainable Finance & Investment, Qualitative Research in Financial Markets, and Asian-Pacific Economic Literature. To his credit, he has authored books on business analytics, data visualisation, and the compilation of case studies, which are an integral part of the faculty’s academic curriculum. In addition, he frequently appears in local newspapers and media to share his research findings and provide insights on economic issues, especially on the gig economy, ex-offenders employability and the economic dimension of urban farming.
